Class A Ergometer EN 957-5 (European standard EN 957-5 for Ergometers is established and monitored by the European Committee for Standardization. There are three class levels of the EN 957-5 Standard A, B and C. Those Ergometers rated Class B or C must be labeled "Not Suitable for Therapeutic Purposes" when sold in Europe. To be rated as Class A, an Ergometer must achieve a top level of accuracy. The actual work rate in watts must precisely match the Ergometer's computer readout on a consistent and repeated basis at multiple load levels. Cateye Fitness Ergocisers are classified Class A Ergometers. Each Cateye Fitness Ergometer is calibrated at the time of manufacture to assure that our patented Disk Brake resistance system and the onboard computer are in perfect sync.)
Patented Cateye Pulsimeter (Accuracy, comfort and convenience are all part of the patented Cateye pulsimeter. The Cateye Fitness system uses a photo-optic transmitter/receiver in a convenient earlobe clip. The signal is the sent to the microprocessor where a 2-stage "filter" cleans the signal prior to readout. The end result is a user friendly pulse monitor that provides the accuracy of the best of the cumbersome chest strap type monitors. The Cateye Fitness pulsimeter is accurate to within 2 heartbeats per minute at 200 beats per minute.)
Onboard computer provides 6 different programs and 7 different readouts
Integrated printer provides "Hard Copy" in both numbers and a graph of Time, Work Rate in Watts and Pulse Rate in 30 second increments, and reports Calories Burned at the end of your workout. Additionally, the printer provides a full report for each Fitness Test performed.
Seating that positions users from 4.75' to 7' tall in an ergonomically correct riding position
A bio-mechanically designed seat mounted on our patented vertically adjustable recumbent frame (When the Cateye Fitness Recumbent Ergocisers were developed, Cateye wanted them to comfortably accommodate people of all types and abilities. These ideas lead to Cateye patented vertically adjustable recumbent design. With the seat of a Cateye Recumbent exercise bike in a high position, the pedal crank axle is level with or just below the hip. This position allows ease of mount and dismount and produces a "normal" cardiovascular workout. With the seat of a Cateye Recumbent exercise bike in a low position, the pedal crank axle is above the level of the hip. This works a different set of muscles and increases the cardiovascular work rate during your workout - and provides even the fittest athletes with a challenging workout.)
Patented Cateye Data Card System (There is a considerable amount of data for the user to input into the computer of a Cateye Fitness product by the user. By doing so this allows you to experience the maximum benefits offered by the most technologically advanced fitness equipment on the market. Your "user profile" and your favorite workout can be permanently and easily pre-programmed on a Data Card. Computer Console Features

Automatic Heart Rate Training Program: Pre-set your desired heart rate for your work-out and the EC-3700 will increase or decrease resistance as needed to maintain your heart rate to within 3 bpm of the target.
Aerobic Power Measurement: Please see A Word About Fitness Testing.
Constant Iso-power Training Program: Choose the number of watts of energy that you wish expend and the Cateye EC-3700 will increase or decrease resistance depending on pedal crank rpm to keep you at the desired watts during your workout.
Interval Training Programs: Choose from 1 of 3 different pre-set interval training profiles or custom design your own interval training profile. Each profile can be set to 1 of 31 different work levels. This allows users of all fitness levels to achieve maximum results.
Hill Profile Programs: Choose from 1 of 8 different pre-set mountain profiles or custom design your own mountain profile and specify your workout time.
Manual Training Program: Choose from 1 of 31 different work load levels at any time during your workout.
